Konnections by Kenzo is a nonprofit organization founded by a 14-year-old with a mission to bring joy, comfort, and a sense of normalcy to children who are unhoused and living in domestic violence shelters. We will provide thoughtfully curated goodie bags filled with essential items, educational materials, and small treasures to uplift spirits, inspire hope, and remind every child that they are valued and cared for.
I decided to start Konnections by Kenzo after serving in shelters with my mother and noticing the number of children living in shelters without personal toys, books, or even educational materials that they could call their own. I wanted to help make their time in the shelter a less uncomfortable experience by providing each child with a carefully curated bag, each one coming with a teddy bear.
